Conversation Corner – Jon Piff

Jon Piff has just celebrated 16 years loyal service at Tamlex. Jon initially started with us from school and over his years and multiple different job roles in our various brands, he is now the factory assistant manager. We sat down with Jon in Conversation Corner to discuss his time at Tamlex.

1. What was your first job?

My first job was spot welding car parts for Austin rover

2. Are you a tea or a coffee person?

Coffee, tea is the work of the devil

3. Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?

I’m pretty good at carpentry, I would say that’s my forte

4. What’s the top destination on your must-visit list?

Definitely, Hawaii

5. If you could invite four celebrities to a dinner party, who would they be?

Ricky Gervais, Tom Hardy, Bruce Lee, Einstein, and I should probably have God too

6. What’s your guilty pleasure?

Pizza, especially pepperoni pizza

7. Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?

Probably Steve Jefferies as I worked for him for quite a while in Redditch

8. If you were stuck on an island with three colleagues, who would you want with you?

Nat my partner, Kev, and little Mark

9. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt whilst working at Tamlex?

The hardest part of the job is keeping staff happy, it’s difficult, someone’s always unhappy

10. If your life here at IMD was a movie, who would play you as the leading character?

Tom hardy, but I don’t think he’d want to take the role!
