Specialists in the field of Ultra High Vacuum technology (UHV), VacGen has become a premier supplier of vacuum components and manipulation devices to industry, education, research & development, and the scientific community. Having outgrown the current premises in East Grinstead and Hastings and wishing to join the operations under one roof, VacGen have built a purpose made facility in Dittons, East Sussex.
MacDonald Engineers were appointed for the electrical installation and following a visit to the Telford factory of Proteus Industrial Switchgear, part of the Installation Materials Division, a PRO800 800A switch board was ordered and fitted. Tamlex Steel Cable Management and Centaur PVCu also part of the IM Division supplied all the cable containment.
“Having direct contact with the manufacturers was ideal,” said company director Ian MacDonald, “we changed the specification of the switch board three times to bespoke it to exactly what we wanted and deliveries from the IM Division were great, which was so important on a project of this size”.
