During the Christmas period we wanted to help as many people in our local community as we could. To achieve this, we have taken part in multiple festive activities to help others out including food donations to our two chosen local charities, Christmas hampers delivered to those in the community via our staff, and raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support with our Christmas jumper day.
Throughout the year we have chosen to support two charities that are local to our factory locations in order to help the surrounding communities. These charities are Building Bridges in Redditch and Telford Crisis Support, both of which focus on helping those in need with food and wellbeing items.
For Christmas we wanted to be able to help both charities again and wanted to make sure that what we could provide would be the most beneficial. Both opted for food donations to be put towards Christmas dinners as well as some treats to be provided to families and children. We were able to give donations to Building Bridges and Telford Crisis Support including items like turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and mince pies to ensure everyone could enjoy a classic Christmas dinner.
We are so grateful to be able to work with such incredible charities who already provide so much help to those who need it, and we look forward to continuing to work with them as they carry out even more supportive work in 2023.
Another way in which we wanted to help those in the community was by providing Christmas hampers, and the best way in which we thought to distribute these was through our staff. Staff came forward if they wanted to gift one to someone they thought was deserving of little extra festive spirit and then every person nominated would receive a Christmas themed hamper.
We were delighted with the feedback of these hampers from the recipients who were really pleased to have been thought of and nominated for this initiative, along with the ‘feel-good factor’ it gave our staff to be able to hand deliver these to people’s homes.
For Christmas Jumper Day all our factories took part in donning their best Christmas jumpers for the day and making a donation to go to our charity of choice. For this initiative we chose to support Macmillan Cancer Support. They are a charity that we have raised money for in the past and would like to support their ongoing hard work.
By choosing a variety of charities and initiatives, it ensures we are able support as many as we can all in the best respective ways.
