Summer Charity Sponsorship

We aimed to find organisations who’s approach to providing support fell in line with our own.
Earlier in the year we provided food parcels for the Building Bridges charity, Redditch, to create packed lunches throughout the Easter half term for the young children, along with some essential Easter eggs. In addition, we also provided food and essential supplies to Telford Crisis Support having spent time at their warehouse and witnessing the fabulous work they perform for the local community.
Following continued contact with Building Bridges they informed us of their plans to provide local families with a summer trip to the Black Country Museum. This was the perfect opportunity to provide support towards the day out. The team at Building Bridges opened the trip up to its members and sold out in no time. This gave children and families the chance to visit somewhere they may not have been able to without the support and effort from Building Bridges. Some of the families don’t get the opportunity to leave their local communities during the summer holidays, making this an unforgettable day for them. As a result, a coach full of children, accompanying parents and the team at Building Bridges set off for a day at the Black Country Museum. We were able to contribute towards the cost of the transport meaning BB could relocate their own resources into maximising the experiences throughout the day.
In Telford, the approach is completely different, which is one of the reasons we enjoy working with these companies, as we can provide the specific help they need. With soaring living costs including the current price of fuel we agreed with TCS that we would sponsor the running costs of their van. This initiative was a win-win as local members of the charity could have their food packages delivered, usually to a local collection centre and the charity had one of their major outgoings covered.
Both charities continue to provide essential support to their local community far beyond just being a food bank. They’re both established organisations supporting people and families as much as possible. We are proud to be able to offer them both the support we do and hope that it goes some way to making their work that little bit easier.
