Steel Trunking Systems

Steel trunking is an ideal solution for areas where additional protection is needed. Its mechanical strength ensures a robust and durable solution to cable containment and protection.

As a British manufacturer of steel cable management products, steel trunking is one of our most popular ranges. Originally manufactured with a screw fix connection for the lid, recently we have developed an easier and faster turnbuckle fixing. This latest development provides a positive lock-in-place turnbuckle which is easy to use and provides a strong and secure fixing. Both ranges are available from stock and all accessories are compatible with both connection types.

Steel Turnbuckle Trunking

Our steel trunking system is now available as standard from 50x50mm up to 300x300mm and all the sizes in-between.

Here at Tamlex we offer a comprehensive range of steel trunking and accessories manufactured from continuously hot dipped zinc coated low carbon steel strip to BSEN 10346: 2015. Supplied as standard in 3 metre lengths and complete with our simple turnbuckle fixing system.

To complement our steel trunking range, we offer a complete range of accessories for all sizes. From 45° bends to fourway junctions, sharp bends to tees, if we don’t offer the accessory as standard for your installation or you require something bespoke – we can offer that as well.

IP4X Steel Trunking

Steel trunking and accessories are available to ingress protection rating IP4X. As standard trunking and accessories are supplied to IP30.

Regulation BS 7671:2008 – Amendment No.1:2011 Section 521.10.1 stipulates the need for trunking to deliver IPXXD or IP4X protection when used with single insulated (non-sheathed) cables. Trunking lids should only be removed by means of a tool or a deliberate action.

Our IP4X steel trunking is an independently test certified system to allow both new and existing trunking systems to achieve this level of protection with the introduction of a unique coupler system which fits over all joints between lengths and standard accessories to deliver a fully compliant solution.

Bespoke Steel Trunking

Being a UK based manufacturer and having complete control over our manufacturing processes we can design and produce bespoke sizes to suit special applications. In addition, we can powder coat to any RAL colour on request, as we supply our steel trunking as standard self-coloured.
